DSCF7720The essence of nature
Is balance
There is no void
Nature rushes in
All feathers and leaves
Sharp teeth and bones
A richly woven tapestry
To fill the senses.
And what part do I play
In this landscape?
A witness—
Just that.
I am a child of this earth.

Ann, I think the reason so many people love the fall is that the colors are so warm and uplifting. Always brings a smile to my face in any case.

I love that ‘a witness’ that’s so true! I think we like to believe we have a bigger part, but observing all is what we do the most. Very beautiful thoughts on autumn! 🙂

I appreciate your kind words. Observing and paying attention to the natural world around us may seem like an inconsequential job, but it’s really the key to the survival of our world as we know it.

Your poem is wonderful… the three first verses gave me shivers… and I sighed (probably in agreement with your words) as I read these ones: “A witness—Just that”.
Thank you very much for sharing!. Best wishes to you, Aquileana 😀
