GARDEN SHED

DSCF9161

Each season
You weathered
Porcupines
Who ate
Your roof
Beetles
That chewed
Your boards
Mice
That birthed
A hundred nibblers
Inside your walls
Worms
Who digested
Your sawdust
The storm
That brought
A javelin of
Black cherry
Through your roof
My neglect
Your resignation.

Thank you, Cynthia. I’m always delighted to hear when my personal ramblings manage to spark something in others.

The thinking goes, maybe if I give a shout out to the poor old shed I won’t feel so guilty about neglecting it.

Better water the roof while you’re at it …

Love that roof, can you see the headline: “Pot Plant Goes Berserk” … “Interviewed today, the grumpy tree muttered to our intrepid reporter to the effect that ‘if water won’t come to Mo, then Mo must go to the water’…”

        (Ye gods—a zen tree?)

I really, really like this-both the words and the image do a superb job of conveying how we and nature interact with our built environment. And buildings like these in the end, show Nature wins–again-there is such as sense of melancholy in this image-well done!

Yes, that’s what makes me happy–nature wins! I always feel as though the woodland is creeping up on me, trying to reclaim our little plot of land. So glad you liked it. Thanks for letting me know.
